Edit MRR / Adjust Subscription Timeline

Correct your subscription data for any date range — without touching your payment provider.

Written by Baremetrics

What this does

With MRR Adjustments, you can tell Baremetrics exactly how a subscription should look for any period of time — and your metrics will reflect it instantly.

Your Stripe, Braintree, or Recurly sync continues to run as normal. Adjustments simply take priority wherever they apply.

How it works

Open any customer profile, find the subscription you want to correct, and click the pencil icon or select Adjust MRR from the actions menu:

From there, you can override:

  • Plan — which plan was active during the window

  • Billing status — Active (Paying), Trialing, or Canceled

  • Quantity — number of seats or units

  • Discount — coupon amount in the customer's currency

Set a From and Until date for when the adjustment applies. Leave Until blank to keep it open-ended through today.

A live preview chart shows you exactly how your MRR will look before you save anything.

Fixing the past, present, or both

  • Historical correction — Fix a specific billing period that synced incorrectly, or mark a customer as paying during a window your provider missed.

  • Current-state fix — Set a subscription as canceled or active from today onward, even if your provider says otherwise.

  • Specific window — Target any date range to correct a single cycle.

Stacking multiple adjustments

You can add multiple adjustments to the same subscription as long as the date ranges don't overlap. All active adjustments are visible in the Active Overrides section of the dialog, where you can review or remove them at any time.

Removing an adjustment immediately rolls back its effect on your metrics.

What updates after you save

Within a few minutes of saving:

  • The customer's Current MRR and Total charges reflect the adjustment

  • The Subscriptions card shows the updated plan, status, and MRR

  • A Manually Adjusted badge appears on the customer profile

  • Your account-level MRR, segments, and plan breakdowns update on the next roll-up

Also available: Segmentation filters for manually adjusted customers

The customers listing includes a Manually Adjusted segment filter so you can quickly pull up any customer with an active adjustment on file. You'll also see a small indicator icon on each row for customers with adjustments, without needing to open their profile.

Important: adjustments stay in Baremetrics only

Adjustments never get pushed back to Stripe or any other provider. They live entirely within Baremetrics. Future syncs from your provider will never overwrite them.
