Revenue Pulse: Daily Briefing

The front page of Revenue Pulse — a daily, editorial-style summary of what deserves your attention today.

Written by Jacci Keefe

The Daily Briefing is the front page of Revenue Pulse — the answer to "what should I look at today?" It reads like a small newspaper: a masthead with today's vitals, one lead story, a few briefs on the side, and the rest of the day's stories below the fold.

You'll find it at Revenue Pulse → Daily Briefing (it's also where the Revenue Pulse sidebar link lands by default). Unlike the other three dashboards, it has no tabs — it's a single page, regenerated with each data refresh.

Masthead

The page opens with a dateline and one or two sentences summarizing the day (for example, "Quiet day; one discount signal worth a look" vs. "Two critical payment risks surfaced overnight"). The timestamp tells you when the briefing was last generated.

The vitals rail ("Today")

A strip of your account's vital signs, pulled from the same daily metrics that power your main Baremetrics dashboard:

  • MRR with a 90-day sparkline

  • Supporting metrics: active customers, ARPU, net revenue churn, quick ratio

  • Signal counts by severity — how many critical, watch, and opportunity signals are currently open

These are your standard daily metrics, calculated the same way as your main dashboard. If a number here ever looks different from the main dashboard, you're likely looking at a different date.

Lead story

The most important open signal, presented as a feature story: a category label ("Critical risk," "Trend," "Opportunity"), a headline, a short explanation of what happened and why it matters, the dollar impact, and — when available — a chart of the underlying evidence. A "recommended action" link jumps you straight to the tab and panel where you can dig in.

In-brief rail and below the fold

Up to two secondary stories sit beside the lead, and the rest of the day's selected stories appear below in a compact card layout. The Briefing shows at most 8 stories total, following a few editorial rules: no more than 2 "opportunity" stories, no more than 2 stories from any single detector, and only one story per customer (the most severe one). Everything that didn't make the cut is still available on each dashboard's Overview tab — the Briefing is a curated selection, not the full record.

About the writing

Each story starts from a precise, factual headline and body generated directly from your data (for example, "Discount cost is 12.4% of MRR, up from 9.1% ninety days ago"). We then use AI to rewrite the selected stories into more readable, editorial-style copy. The numbers always come from your account's real data — AI only changes the prose, never the math. Only anonymized, numeric signal data is ever sent for this; no customer names or other identifying details leave Baremetrics. If AI narration isn't available or you've opted out, the Briefing shows the plain, factual version instead — you lose some style, not any facts.

Common questions

Why did a story disappear? Either the underlying condition cleared, someone on your team dismissed or snoozed it, or it was edged out by higher-ranked stories. Check the relevant dashboard's Overview tab — all open signals are listed there.

Why does the Briefing show only one story about a customer I know has several issues? By design — one story per customer, the most severe one. You can see a customer's full signal list on their profile in Health Score.

Can I trust the narrated text? Yes — the prose is AI-written, but the numbers inside it come directly from your account's data. When in doubt, click through: every story links to the panel and customer list behind it.
